The Delegate Wranglers

We inherited the website from another web agency (with questionable accessibility practices), so we have been working with The Delegate Wranglers to gradually update the website a section-at-a-time to meet available budgets. 

Every time we work on a new section, we spend time improving the accessibility of the website. Of course, in an ideal world you would do this in one hit, but any improvement is a step in the right direction. In our opinion, gradual improvements are better than no improvements at all.

To date, we have updated the:

• Home page
• Directory listings
• Member profile pages
• News listing and article pages
• Venue showcase section

And we have introduced two new sections:

1. Events calendar
2. Jobs

We have also strengthened the brand identity, coordinating it more with the offline collateral developed by The Delegate Wranglers team. There is more synergy between the offline and online experience with a stronger use of the teal green, black and white colours across the website.

We also created a universal header bar that contains the logo, key navigation items, standard banner ad, and the USP. Above this we added the company tagline and utility navigation providing a consistency appreciated by the users.

Behind the scenes, we have created numerous self-serve pages so members can manage their account, including:

• Adding/updating their public-facing member profile
• Adding an event (via a paywall)
• Publishing job vacancies (via a paywall)
• Managing their subscription
• Updating the account details

This both reduces the admin overhead of managing a large member-based website and generates income from the additional services offered.

The website seamlessly works with Stripe to handle all recurring membership payments as well as the one-off payments for advertising jobs or events on the website.
