Simon was a joy to collaborate with and went above and beyond to help us get our project over the line. You can tell that accessibility is truely a passion for Simon, his deconstruction and explaination of the why behind the requirements really helps you gain an appreciation and motivation to get things right. 

Simon visited our college to speak to our web development learners about web accessibility. He really connected with the group and received excellent feedback from the learners.

He helped them understand the realities of the digital industry and, more importantly, what accessibility actually means in practice. The session gave learners a genuine insight into the challenges of accessing the web when you are disabled or face accessibility barriers, which many of them probably had not fully considered before.

The session was varied and carefully pitched to the audience. Simon took the time to find out about the learners in advance so he could tailor the content to their needs, and he absolutely hit the nail on the head. He managed a group of teenagers very well, kept them engaged for over an hour, and gave them practical insights they have since been able to apply to improving their course assignments.

He used a wide range of activities and brought along several practical props to simulate different accessibility barriers, which worked particularly well. Simon was open and honest with the learners, something which they really appreciated.

He was well organised, punctual, and his usual personable self. He delivered a genuinely impactful session, and we are keen to invite him back next year.

It was a combination of engaging tasks to highlight real life issues, learning materials and examples of lived experiences from the presenter. It was a good introduction to the general topic and gave a good grounding for the next session.

I think the workshop did a great job in teaching the key elements of approaching accessibility but through a digital/technical lens. I think it was well planned and paced —the tasks helped me keep engaged. Thank you!

I appreciated the broad range of disabilities and difficulties highlighted.

It was really informative. Good to know that at least I've been shooting in the right direction when I've been testing keyboard and screen readers. I think it's given a really good grounding for the team to move forward, especially the developers. They can consider this when they are working.

The workshop is very interactive and it gave me an insight on topics I had never had the chance to dig deep into. I really liked knowing a bit more about practical ideas (typography, design etc.)

A really insightful and well thought out workshop, thinking about accessibility in ways I hadn't considered before. I found it particularly useful to see how people use screen readers and voice navigation, as while I have used them before, they didn’t click until these walkthroughs.
